I started tutoring high school students when I was in elementary school and have accumulated over 10 years of teaching experience. I have extensive tutoring in a variety of fields with a specialization in English. To the extent that I have aided Cegep students with their pronunciation and international students to pass McGill’s English Entrance Exam. I have even taught a nutrition course for autistic adults and tutored three students with learning disabilities at their high school. I am passionate about helping students improve in all academic subjects especially in test preparation (exit examinations), organizing notes and working on developing stronger studying strategies, analysing literature, writing essays, especially if it pertains to Quebec history. I still remember my excitement when my first student had difficulty writing a complete sentence and was able to finish an entire essay without my assistance!Guiding students whether it be test preparation or finding their "aha" moment is what has motivated me to become so dedicated in teaching! I am really adapt at working in tutoring organizations, schools and libraries - I mainly tutor in the down town area at McGill or Concordia university. Experienced with different learning styles and students: Immigrants or beginners that need to improve their conversational and writing skills. Elementary students and High school students: -Created worksheets and practice quizzes - monitored academic progress of student - Experience with autistic and learning disabled students -Support students with emotional and behavioral problems Cegep and University students: - focus on one subject or large entrance or exit exams -extensive exam preparation -Administered stress-management techniques Course: I have taken a course in Helping Relationships that has allowed me to better coach students through frustrating materials. I am an "artsy" person. I love to experiment with all different types of art media be it drawing, crafts or creating nail designs. Otherwise, I spend my time coordinating the book club at The Yellow Door.
