Experience

Growing up and living in Germany for 25 years I have also lived in Australia, the U.S and am now living in Canada. Being a native german speaker with advanced english communication skills, an intermediate level of french and basic Italian I don't only love learning and speaking languages, I also know of the difficulties that may come with it. Having taught german for multiple years, to children and adults, in private and groups, as well as in language schools I adapt to the students needs. Grammar is important, but I believe that breaking the ice and finding confidence to start speaking in the first place is even more important. Exercises are helpful, but speaking, and 'just doing it' (including making mistakes) is not only normal but essential to the learning process. Therefore getting into conversations and getting used to not only the sound but also the pronunciation could be a start. Adding vocabulary and grammar rules to this help you improve. If you are already at a certain level, we go from there by focusing on your aims and goals! Looking forward to hearing from you! :)
