Education

I am a Master's student in film theory at Concordia University. I received my undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, RI, where I studied Modern Culture and Media and English literature and graduated summa cum laude. I was also admitted into the Phi Beta Kappa society upon graduation. I attended Atlanta international School for high school, where I graduated with an IB diploma.

Experience

As a Master's student, I have worked as a TA grading undergraduate papers. At the undergraduate level, I was a writing fellow, a trained position within the university assigned to help students strengthen their writing skills. For that job, I took a class on pedagogy and writing. I was also a CAP fellow, a job where I advised freshmen in the Introduction to TV studies class. I want to be a tutor because I have always loved teaching - for as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a college professor. Tutoring seems like a great way to develop and practice my personal pedagogy. My SAT score was 2260 (Critical Reading: 800; Math: 740; Writing: 720; Subject Test World History: 790; Subject Test Physics: 680). I graduated high school with an IB diploma, having taken HL math, history, and physics and SL English Language and Literature, Spanish B, and art. My GRE scores were 168 in Verbal Reasoning, 155 in Quantitative Reasoning, and 6 in Analytical Writing.

Hobbies

Like most people, when asked my hobbies my mind turns blank, despite having many (perhaps too many). First and foremost, I love soccer. Though I never played competitively, I watch as much of it as I can, along with spending hours each week reading analytic and tactical breakdowns. I also play a fair amount of soccer video games, such as FIFA and Football Manager. Outside of that, I love skiing, rock climbing (particularly bouldering), and golf. An odd hobby of mine is wandering—when the weather is good, you can often find me walking aimlessly through Montreal. Finally, I write creative non-fiction (essays, travelogues, etc) and make short films on a 16mm Bolex. One final but important note about me: I do not speak French.
