I have been a math tutor for the past 6 years. I tutor at all levels; ranging from elementary school all the way to CEGEP level (including Cal 1 & Cal 2 as well as linear algebra). Though out the years, I have had to privilege of tutoring several special needs students... It was such an amazing experience to see their determination and willingness to succeed and to be part of that was so rewarding. When tutoring my students/clients, I prefer the "understanding" method, as opposed to "memorizing". When a student, at any age or education level, memorizes a concept or idea, they are setting themselves up for failure. However, when a student is taught thoroughly and in a manner in which they clearly understand, only then will they be able to apply their knowledge to any given problem. With understanding comes knowledge, and with knowledge comes confidence. I have loved math from a very young age and always had a passion for it. I love helping student succeed, but I enjoy it even more when I know that they understand the given concepts and have a new found confidence that they can succeed and that math is not a torturous, impossible subject. My rates vary between $25 and $35. I have no problem coming to your home ($35), seeing as this would facilitate things for you... If not, we can set up our sessions at a library or cafe ($25)....NOTE: Any tutoring session that takes place off the island of Montreal will have an extra $5 fee... totalling $40/hour. My number one hobby is math (believe it or not). Apart from that, I love anything that has to do with food; wether it be trying new recipes, watching the Food Network or making homemade pasta. I also enjoy working out and living a healthy lifestyle. Lastly, I love animals.
