I am a PhD graduate in Pharmacology/Neuroscience at McGill University, and I have a Master of Pharmacology/Neuroscience from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
Experience
I have more than 20 years of education and an extensive medical and scientific background acquired throughout my academic studies and through volunteering, tutoring and translation experiences. I have experience working with students at all levels from elementary school through high school and up to an undergraduate level. I find the experience of working with students to be both enriching and dynamic. My ability to communicate with varying educational and knowledge levels extends into my presentation skills. I have honed my skills in explaining relevant scientific subjects by translating complex and technical materials into a format that is adapted to my audience. I have expounded upon subjects such as neuroscience and biology and found satisfaction in sharing my knowledge and experience with the audience. I have experience as a neuroscience/pharmacology researcher and as a research assistant in neuroscience/pharmacology. I've been a TA at McGill University, a volunteer neuroscience presenter at Rosemont High school for the Brain Reach (IPN, McGill) Project, and a volunteer presenter for elementary school students (Let's Talk Science's science communication Project). I've also done scientific writing for a Brazilian website dedicated to the communication of neuroscience, and I've worked as a freelancer translator of Medical books (English to Portuguese).
