Experience

I have previously tutored English one on one in Taipei, Taiwan. I've also taught English at the YMCA and IKEA in Taiwan. My practicum and internship gave me classroom-teaching experience, first with university students at the University of Regina and then with fully experienced ESL teachers in China. Furthermore, I have tutoring experience with a Chinese high school student who was attending the high school attached to my college, and spoke virtually no English. I am a trained TESOL instructor looking to remain in my field after having recently moved to Montreal. I love helping people reach their goals and do my best to assist them in any way I can. I also have intermediate proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

Hobbies

I love traveling and meeting new people. I've travelled to many countries and lived for many years in Asia, including China, Taiwan, Korea, and Thailand. I enjoy food, especially from different countries. Chinese, Indian and Thai food are among some of my favourites. I enjoy reading fiction, especially novels, as well as movies and television series. Particularly fantasy, like Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones, and Sci-fi, like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I'll never say no to watching Star Wars. I enjoy a good story whatever the medium. I also enjoy games. While I indulge in the occasional video game, I also really enjoy playing board games, especially strategic games like Risk or Settlers of Catan. And prior to moving to Montreal, I enjoyed hanging out with my two year old nephew, wrestling or watching Lilo and Stitch or going for a walk to the park and seeing all the cars along the way. I really appreciate my family and enjoy their company.
