Hello! My name is James Lawrence. I am a 21 year-old student entering my third year of study at McGill university this fall, where I study Honours philosophy and political science. I am looking to tutor middle school and high school students in the humanities, and other discipline areas that are otherwise reading and writing intensive. I am also available for essay correction. I am a strong and passionate student with a love for learning. The real reason I am interested in being a tutor is because I believe I have teaching methods that prove promising, and a knack for helping others learn. In fact I have plans to pursue a PhD and teaching after I complete my bachelors degree. I am a patient with my students and adapt to their learning style. While I do seek to push my students to achieve their greater potential, I understand that everyone's strengths and weaknesses differ. I therefore seek always to be empathetic and delicate in my teaching approach. I have extensive experience teaching English to Spanish children at home in Spain, as well as experience with a variety of education: including the international baccalaureate program, American college preparatory courses, as well as SAT and ACT testing. My hours are flexible and rates negotiable.
